Ukraine’s Roshen says shuts down plant in Russia’s Lipetsk

KIEV, Jun 20 (PRIME) -- Ukrainian confectionery Roshen has shut down its facility in the Russian city of Lipetsk temporarily andclosed the trade house, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Roshen belonging to Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko was earlier said to cease operations in Russia from April and to lay off all staff of about 700 people until December due to political and economic reasons.

The Russian Federal Customs Service earlier charged the company a 150 million ruble tax on the dividends that the company’s unit paid to the Ukrainian shareholders. Roshen said that the measure is unjust, and it will use all legal means to protect its interests.
